Veteran Hope Alliance

Hello, my name is Timothy Terrell and I am a US Army veteran. I have proudly served my nation and hold that memory as the greatest achievement of my life, second only to having fathered a great son.

I quickly created 22 Club of Columbia several years back, not even really thinking that it limited so many things for that organization, which was not fair to the veteran community, simply because I was too eager to set up something a bit bigger than I could have imagined. Therefore, 22clubcomo.org, or 22 Club of Columbia has been dissolved and from it has been established Veteran Hope Alliance.

Through Veteran Hope Alliance, we will pick up the pieces and do our very best to ensure that our veteran family does not slip through the cracks and get lost in the weeds. We will be able to provide critical services and we will be able to assist families in many ways that before were just beyond my concerns.

This is not a bad sign or a notice of failure, this is a moment where you sit back and reflect and say, “I didn’t know what I didn’t know”, much like the Office of Strategic Services had to evolve and become the Central Intelligence Agency. Now I am not implying that VHA is even remotely as important or mission critical as the OSS or CIA are, but it was a process of evolution and here we have that same process, all to improve not only the lives of our veterans but improve the communities in which we live in.

There are numerous projects, services, programs, and events that will be coming in the near future, all we are currently waiting on is the designation by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization along with the official election of Board Members and establishment of the Board Calendar and the Organization Calendar.

Even though we are based in Missouri and this is our primary concern, I hope that my veteran family in other states will assist and participate, as all the Board Meetings will be controlled by Zoom. I want this so that this organization can spawn others in other states, once we demonstrate the need and the benefit of our existence.

I look forward to working with every single one of you so let’s take from the 22 Club the real mission at heart and take their pledge “Et Salvos Eos”, I will save them, will you?
